Having had my eyes tested only 4 weeks earlier in Stirling and received spectacles which were of no use to me, I decided to stay local and have my eyes tested again at Andrew Baird Optometrist, Callander. The service I received was second to none and I really appreciated the calm, quiet and professional atmosphere. I was not pressured into purchasing frames - in fact I was offered new lenses in my own frames. Only a week later I collected my spectacles with new lenses, they were fitted to me and the prescription is perfect. I am delighted and highly recommend this Optometrist.

I was in Callander on a day trip, when the lens fell out of my glasses while cleaning them. Disaster! But I found an Opticians on the main street. The receptionist and the optician were very understanding and extremely helpful. Fixing my glasses once they were free. While I am very grateful, I also think this is a sign of very good customer service. If I lived in the area there is only one opticians I would use.

Designer ranges include Ray-Ban, Emporio Armani, Ted Baker, Police, Bolle and many more. We offer complete pairs of single vision spectacles from £59 or 2 pairs from just £89.

We provide a range of free frames and lenses for patients who are entitled to an NHS optical voucher. Please ask for details.

About Andrew Baird BSc (Hons) MCOptom

Andrew gained a degree in Optometry from Cardiff University in 1999. During the following pre-registration year, whilst training for professional examinations, Andrew met his wife Fiona, also an optometrist.

Early in his career, Andrew spent three happy years in an independent practice in his home town of Buckley, North Wales.

As well as practising in Callander since 2011, Andrew is also a previous chairman of the Forth Valley Area Optical Committee.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys playing guitar with his band and watching baseball.

About Fiona Baird BSc(Hons) MCOptom

Fiona, originally from Dunblane, studied Optometry at Glasgow Caledonian University. After qualifying in 1999, Fiona spent her pre-registration year in Stirling before moving to Merseyside for a few years.

After marrying in 2003, Andrew and Fiona moved to Scotland to be near to Fiona’s family. 2006 and 2008 saw the arrival of their two sons, Daniel and Matthew.

Fiona is studying to become an independent prescribing optometrist but when she finds some free time, Fiona enjoys sewing, spending time with her two sons and walking Marty, the family’s prized Schnoodle.
